This Chrome extension (“the Extension”) is an internal tool built by Toolsquare (Sint-Pietersvliet 7, 2000 Antwerpen, Belgium) for its own employees. It lets a signed-in Toolsquare user add or update the LinkedIn profile they are viewing as a contact in Toolsquare’s HubSpot CRM. Use is restricted to Toolsquare Google Workspace accounts (@toolsquare.io).
1. Data the Extension accesses
- LinkedIn profile information — when you open a LinkedIn profile and use the Extension, it reads visible fields of that profile (name, headline/job title, company, and the profile URL) to identify and sync the contact.
- Details you enter — when you log a note or create a task, deal, or lead, the text you type (for example a note body, task subject, or deal name and amount) is sent to HubSpot as part of that record.
- Your Google account identity — the Extension uses Chrome’s identity API to obtain a token for your signed-in Google Workspace account, to verify that you are a Toolsquare employee and to attribute the HubSpot records you create to you (as their owner). Only your account email/identity is used; no other Google data is accessed.
- A local setting — the Extension stores one value (the address of the Toolsquare proxy server) in your browser’s local storage. No personal data is stored locally.
2. How the data is used
- LinkedIn profile fields are sent to Toolsquare’s HubSpot CRM (via Toolsquare’s proxy server) to create or update the contact and company, and to create the notes, tasks, deals, or leads you choose to add. Records you create are attributed to you — your verified Google email is mapped to the HubSpot record owner.
- Your Google token is verified by Toolsquare’s proxy server to confirm your account belongs to the toolsquare.io organization before any request is processed.
3. Data sharing & what we do not do
Data is sent only to HubSpot (Toolsquare’s own CRM, where the contact is stored) and Google (for account authentication). The Extension does not send data to any other third party. Specifically, we do not:
- sell your data to third parties;
- use or transfer your data for purposes unrelated to the Extension’s single purpose (syncing LinkedIn contacts to Toolsquare’s HubSpot);
- use or transfer your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
4. Data retention
The proxy server processes requests in transit and does not keep its own database of profile data. Contact records live in Toolsquare’s HubSpot account, governed by Toolsquare’s and HubSpot’s data policies. The only data the Extension itself stores is the local proxy-URL setting, which is removed when you uninstall the Extension.
5. Security
Access is restricted to Toolsquare Google Workspace accounts. All communication with the proxy server uses HTTPS. HubSpot credentials are held only on the server side and are never exposed in the Extension.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Extension evolves. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
